The Lambourn handler has twice prevailed in the Lowther Stakes in recent years and is now pointing a pair of promising youngsters at two of the Knavesmire’s principal juvenile contests.
Never Enough to tackle the Gimcrack after Ascot maiden win
Never Enough, a colt by No Nay Never, is expected to head to the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes on Friday. The colt enhanced his profile with a one-and-a-half-length success over six furlongs at Ascot last month, having previously finished second on debut at Windsor.
Connections view the colt as progressive and believe he remains capable of further improvement, which underpins the plan to step him up into Group company on the Knavesmire.
Alfred Wallace among options for the Acomb
Another two-year-old from Kingsdown Stables, the Dubawi colt Alfred Wallace, is under consideration for the Group 3 Tattersalls Acomb Stakes on the opening day. Alfred Wallace impressed when late to prevail in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes over seven furlongs at Ascot, and his profile suggests he could be competitive at York, should his connections opt for that route.
Nursery plans and other juvenile targets

Walker also has entries among the older horses, though plans are dependent on conditions. Almaqam features on the entry list for the Juddmonte International Stakes (19 August) but is understood to favour a little give in the ground. With dry forecasts at present, a clear preference for easier underfoot conditions could affect his participation.
Ten Bob Tony, successful at long odds in the Queen Anne Stakes in June and recently fourth in the Sussex Stakes, has been considered for the Group 1 Sky Bet City of York Stakes (22 August). However, connections are weighing whether he should revert to seven furlongs on the prevailing quick ground or be kept to a mile unless conditions change.
Staying options for Miss Alpilles
Miss Alpilles, runner-up in the William Hill Brontë Cup, remains a candidate for the Group 2 Weatherbys Lonsdale Cup on Friday, 21 August. Her form suggests a preference for the top of the ground, and with a good record on York’s surface, she is among the staying acts being considered for that contest.
