Trawlerman retired after leg issue following Goodwood Cup

After an eight-month absence from the track, Trawlerman returned to run a strong race in this year’s Ascot Gold Cup. He finished second by a head to Scandinavia, carrying 1lb less than the winner in a performance that underlined his durability and continued competitiveness at the highest level.
Final run and factors behind retirement
His final start came at Goodwood, where he emerged from the race with a leg issue. That problem prompted connections to retire him from training.
