Shall we go with Marshall
Steve Hughes has a best bet for the final day of Killarney’s July Festival
Flat racing takes over for the final day at Killarney on Friday. The feature is the Tote handicap over a mile and a classy in-form 7yo is favoured.
Killarney 2.55: Marshall Jennings
Despite a relatively modest win record of 4-40, Marshall Jennings has undoubted ability and although rated 100, he seems best in high level handicaps against inferior rivals, rather than in pattern races.
A winner over this trip at Cork in the spring, he returned from a short break in good form when third at the Curragh a couple of weeks ago. He can race off the same mark today.
This is not the strongest of contests for the grade and he likes the track having twice been placed here in the listed race at this meting in previous years. He seems versatile with ground conditions so won’t particularly mind any rain that falls.
Recommended bet:
1pt win – Marshall Jennings – 2.55 Killarney – 9/4 Skybet, William Hill, BetVictor
Next column – Ascot Saturday 27th July – King George Day
